What is it like for you, working at Chatters?
Chatter’s is like a family. I have a very supportive boss Rosemary, and co-workers too. Here I can continue learning and gaining more knowledge about hairstyling.  Chatters is gives opportunity to stylists who want to achieve success in the beauty industry.

What do you love most about your job in the salon?  
Actually, I love everything ab out the job I am doing. This is where I can give a better future to my kids and our family. Plus, as a hairdresser this job gives me the desire of my heart – to satisfy every client. This is the more than just a daily living, it’s what we live to do and I’ve been doing it for 17 years now!

What do you like about Canada?
I like Canada because this is the country that gave me such an awesome opportunity.  It’s so great here, everybody acknowledges each other for who they are and for their talents too. Canada is full of beautiful places, kind people, peaceful surroundings & a lot of opportunity for my family.

What are you looking forward to most in the coming days and weeks, now that your family is here?
I just want to let them see how beautiful Newfoundland is and experience the weather here.

When did you know you wanted to be a hair stylist?
I knew I wanted to become a hairstylist when I was in Grade school. When I hung out at the barber shop near our house. then I started cutting hair for my friends and other street children for free. After that I realized that I want to be a hairstylist because it was really my passion.

What do you want to be known for within the salon industry?  
I would like to be recognized as a popular stylist and one who is hardworking. I really want to just continue exploring my abilities and creating in this industry.

What advice would you give someone reading this, who is interested in becoming a stylist but is scared to get started?
I must say that, if you want to do it, love it and have passion for this job, don’t be scared. Just be true to yourself and trust in everything that you do. Always accept the opinions of others and put your feet on the ground.

Some people say working at Chatters is like being part of a family. Can you comment on that?
Yes, my Chatters Salon family is my first family here in Newfoundland. I always thank God for the opportunity that I’ve been taking now. Chatters family it’s really great!!!I just want to inspire everybody and be thankful   everything that may come to us now and in the future.
