Elizabeth South Edmonton Common

Where do you work and what is your role? How long have you worked there?

I’m currently an elite stylist at the South Edmonton Common location and have been here for 5 years. I’ve been with Chatters for about 7.

How did you find out about Chatters?

I learned about Chatters through a local friend back in Lloydminster.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I think the people and communicating! I like building client relationships and being able to make people feel good.

If you could style any celebrity person’s hair who would it be?

Probably Busy Philipps because I think we would have similar personalities and she’s kind of a free spirit.

Fave thing to do on a day off?

I like to play outside with my kid.

Personal philosophy?

“The glass is always half full”

Have you ever entered Dare to Hair contest? What was that experience like? If it was a good experience how would you suggest someone else to enter?

Yes! It was great! I placed and it was a lot of fun. I think some advice I would give to someone entering would be not to overthink it because you want to win. I think a lot of stylists end up trumping their own talent because they sort of try too hard.

What does creativity mean to you?

Creativity is everything! It’s what makes life fun and pretty. It’s the easiest way to communicate with everyone.

What does style happy mean to you?

Confidence!

When did you know you wanted to be a stylist?

Probably when I was like 12 in junior high, doing everyone’s hair before a school dance.

Best day on the job? Describe it?

A busy day with my favourite clients and everyone being in a super positive happy mood!

How can you tell Chatters cares about their employees?

I think they really do their best to work with you even though they’re a big corporation. They’re still really involved and are willing to work with you through anything in life.

Favorite style trend?

I’m really digging the blunt shoulder length bobs I’ve been seeing. I chopped mine and am never going back!

Advice to your younger self?

To stay confident! It’s one of the hardest things when you’re just starting out.

One of your favourite products?

The Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. It doesn’t matter what your hair type is, its great!
