Personal Faves: Angie Heng

Looking for some new products to update your hair routine? We met up with Angie Heng, beauty consultant at our Heartland location in Mississauga, to discuss some of her favourites and why she can't do without them!

Schwarzkopf Osis+ Sparkler Shine Spray

No time? No problem! The Shine Spray is a no brainer for a speedy on-the-go shine. It gives the quickest glisten without the heavy weight of a serum. I’m always in a rush and I have a naturally oily scalp, so putting two and two together only makes sense! You won’t find a lot of hold from this product, but because of that, it acts great as a lightweight finishing touch to any blowout.

L'oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo

You can tell the strength of a purple shampoo by the darkness of its pigment, and this stuff is intense! It’s made particularly for silvers, but being platinum, brassy tones can really sneak up on me. I just do a quick wash of this and within seconds, brass-be-gone! It smells great and it’s not overtly stripping, so my hair isn’t too dry without conditioner.

Moroccanoil Beach Wave Mousse

Sea salt spray can be overbearing, especially to already dry hair. This mousse, while also smelling like the divine signature Moroccan oil scent, is the best thing ever for that swept look without the fear of that dryness and crunch. My natural waves are over processed and can’t find their shape without frizzing up! This lifesaving mousse is lightweight enough to give that texture and definition without the weight.

Redken Hair Cleansing Cream

Not many people know that buildup can really clog the pores in your scalp. In my case, I have psoriasis so my pores clog extremely quickly. Having a Sunday shampoo like this one is great to remove all the buildup from your week and on top of that, it has a really light flowery scent! It’s especially great for swimmers that have chlorine buildup as well. However, any clarifying shampoo can strip colour, so use sparingly if you have coloured or chemically treated hair!
